INSTRUCTIONS
What we can and cannot deliver
- Publisher’s
Agreement: If you want to distribute eBooks through Mobipocket’s
eBookbase system plus hundreds of other retail websites, you must have signed a Mobipocket Publisher's Agreement prior to August 31, 2009 Mobipocket.
- Page Numbers:
Page numbers in Word, PDF, etc., are different when these documents are
converted to fit mobiles. This can be confusing for readers. The table
of contents in your titles will not appear as it might in a print
version because of the difference in page-count.
- Fonts:
Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana and a few other fonts are universal. An
abundant use of unusual fonts may require additional time and charges.
- Text Flow
Between Book Sections on Mobiles: Titles with fewer than
125 pages usually appear much the same as in any book – that
is, blank spaces or pages separate book sections and chapters. Titles
with more than 125 pages are subject to a continual flow with few blank
spaces as readers’ page through the text.
- Footnotes and
Endnotes: You may include footnotes plus
Mobipocket’s software will repeat these notes in Endnotes in
your title conversion. Readers find it handy but if you don’t
want the Endnotes, please let us know.
- Contents,
Introductions, Forewords, Prefaces, Appendices and the
like, however, will be separated and viewed on multiple separate
screens regardless of the number of text pages.
- Covers,
Graphics, Photos: Please submit in JPEG, PNG or GIF with
your title and the page number where they are located before we convert
your title.
- Mobipocket
eBookbase Upload: You must sign a Publisher’s
Agreement and be approved before we can upload your title to Mobipocket.
